Parents, stakeholders invited to participate in precalculus honors text selection

Duval County Public Schools is conducting the textbook adoption review process for the precalculus honors course. The district invites members of the Duval community with a passion for mathematics instruction and knowledge of the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) standards to participate.

District adoption reviewers will meet in stakeholder groups from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Jan. 11, 12, and 13, 2023, at the Schultz Center, 4019 Boulevard Center Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32207 to review state-adopted textbook submissions. Individuals must be present at all dates and times for their input to be considered in the recommendation. The district has a terrific group of teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators taking part and also invites community volunteers to partner in a curriculum recommendation for the 2023-2024 school year.

If you are interested in participating in the mathematics textbook adoption review process, please complete the following survey: The deadline for survey submissions is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. All submissions will receive an email confirming participation by Friday, Jan. 6, 2023.

In considering the transition to the B.E.S.T. standards, we are eager to make a sound choice for the students in Duval County Public Schools. If you have additional questions regarding the textbook adoption review process, please contact Michelle DiBias, Supervisor of Instructional Materials and Media Services.
