Please join us as we welcome our new principal, Latarsha Jones, to Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School!

Latarsha Jones is a veteran educator with 29 years of experience, who is deeply passionate about student learning and teacher empowerment. Ms. Jones has served as an elementary teacher, curriculum support teacher, teacher mentor coach and most recently, an Assistant Principal.

Ms. Jones goes beyond the curriculum, focusing on what is truly best for students, teachers, and the community she serves,
Latarsha is known for her ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, parents and community partners understanding that education is not just about following a program, but taking meaningful actions and connecting with people.
Even after almost 3 decades as an educator, Latarsha finds immense joy in watching both students and teachers thrive under her guidance.
