Pinedale Elementary will be a STEM/Pre-Engineering Magnet for the 2017-2018 school year.

Pinedale Elementary will be a STEM/Pre-Engineering Magnet for the 2016-2017 school year.

Goal:
To infuse science, technology, engineering, arts, and math concepts into the current curriculum that provides the rigor necessary for students to increase and maintain a level of proficiency on district, state and national assessments.  The uniqueness of the program from other magnet programs is the implementation of the engineering modules/components, increase focus on STEM careers and exposure to in depth hands-on learning and design. Also, with the implementation and use of the PITSCO Science lab (3-5), the program at Pinedale will provide distinct science lessons that are aligned with previous year’s school data and build lessons that align with specific middle school magnet programs.  With the infusing of engineering challenges and increasing the uniqueness of the arts during scheduled resources for certain grade levels, all students will be exposed to some component of the magnet program.

Implementation:

Each grade level will be have a designated theme that will align with the district’s curriculum guides, modules and resources that are available.
