Current Student Returning Survey

Friends and Families of GRASP Academy,

As the 2019 - 2020 school year begins to wind down, it is time to reflect on the accomplishments we have had at GRASP. We began the year with School Spirit Week. Students, faculty, and staff all participated by dressing up as twins and sport teams while learning and celebrating the school of our remarkable students. As we continued into the school year, we celebrated Dyslexia Awareness Month with everyone dressing up as their favorite book characters and building backdrops from various books in the hallways. In addition, the school shared with the community and friends the signs of dyslexia and the unique learning styles of our students. Throughout the year, numerous clubs such as the Chess Club, Comic Book, Drama, Robotics, Sports Club, and so many more met to work on projects, and the 5th graders created the Safety Patrol to support their school and develop a sense of community responsibility. Spring brought the Hero Walk, and in true GRASP spirit, we had to adapt and overcome weather challenges to host an AMAZING event in partnership with PTA. Each month, other events such as school dances, hat days, and “Kick Ball with Spillman” were sprinkled in to celebrate everyday successes.

We left for Spring Break, and before we could return, we were faced with the challenges of online learning. Again, the GRASP family rose to the occasion. Everyone joined together to create a learning environment where students, teachers, and parents could work together to continue to have a successful school year and show support for one another.

While the 2019-2020 school year has been a challenge and adventure, we're looking forward to sharing the 2020-2021 school year with you and students returning to the building to kick off the 5th year of GRASP.

Thank you,

Principal Powell
