Raines High School Teacher Awarded NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Educator Award

Raines High School computer teacher Donna Brovich-Kennison was awarded the NCWIT (National Center for Women and Information Technology) Aspirations in Computing Educator Award, which honors teachers who encourage high school women's interest and participation in technology pursuits. 


Aspirations in Computing is a talent development initiative designed to increase female participation in technology careers by providing encouragement, visibility, community, leadership opportunities, scholarships and internships to young women.


One of her students received an Honorable Mention Award. This award honors young women at the high school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. 


Recipients are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history and plans for postsecondary education.
