Dear parents and guardians,
Happy Pi Day! Pi, or 3.14 is a pretty remarkable number in math. Did you know that you can measure the circumference or perimeter of a circle, any sized circle and if you divide it by its diameter you will always get roughly 3.14 or pi? Go ahead and try it!
I hope everyone has enjoyed this fantastic spring break. I know, I wish it were longer as well. However, we still have a bunch of teaching and learning to do before we are done with the school year. We only have one week left in the 3rd quarter patriots!
Thank you to my DVHR families who were able to make it in for PMA 3 testing. Almost 100 of you were able to adjust your schedules and arrange for the testing. We will spend the next two weeks reviewing those results with your cadet and make plans to help close any gaps in learning your cadet may have.
Laptops – Parents and guardians we need your help with your cadet’s laptop. Each of the cadets on the general education side received a laptop last fall. They have them here at school and a locker to store and charge them. Cadets get them out as they transition to first period and put them back at the end of the day so that they are charged and ready to go. Some cadets bring them home to do work and that is okay, but we do not have chargers for them as they are in the laptop lockers. So, if your cadet needs to bring them home, you will need to get a charger and ensure that they bring the laptop to school each day. Not having a charged laptop during the day will interfere with their learning and keeping up with assignments.
Spring sports are in full swing: track, baseball, softball and swimming. Contact Coach Larry Edwards, our athletic director if you have any questions. (firstname.lastname@example.org) We need more swimmers. Boys and Girls Swimming begins Tuesday, March 16th. Students must have a physical on file with the athletic department to participate. Contact Coach McNally or Coach Anderson with any questions.
