EXPECTATIONS Please read carefully and follow the announcement

Parents, 

This is principal Caldwell calling from R.V. Daniels Elementary to share important information with you regarding the close of the 2019-2020 school year.  Students are required to return their borrowed materials starting 5/26/2020.  This includes all textbooks, library books, uniforms, and other borrowed items.  During this time, students will also pick up items they left at the school, including personal items left in their classrooms or lockers.  Please note that if you borrowed a computer or internet hot spot for online instruction during the school year, we will not be collecting those items at this time, except for graduating seniors and students not returning to a DCPS school.

 

In order to safely allow students on campus, and comply with social distancing guidelines, each student has been scheduled to come to the school during a designated window of time.  The collection of materials will occur through a mobile collection process.  Families will not be able to walk-in to pick up or return materials.  Again, the process for picking up and delivering materials will be by vehicle only.  No walk-ups will be allowed. 

 

Families who have members of their household who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days or who are exhibiting symptoms of illness such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath are not permitted on campus but should contact the school’s main office for further instructions.

 

Please check your child’s Team page, dojo, or the school’s website to learn the date/time your child is scheduled to return items.  Thank you for your assistance with ensuring your student returns all items at his/her designated time.  We look forward to seeing you at your assigned time.  If you do not have a vehicle or if you are unable to come to the school at the designated time, please contact Mrs. Caldwell to make other arrangements. 

Mobile Collection/Return of Student Materials Schedule and Guidelines

The below schedule will be shared with families to pick-up student items or drop off borrowed materials (i.e. library books). We are asking that a “tag” be put on the dashboard or window of the vehicle used to pick up personal items with the following information: Grade, Homeroom Teacher, and Name. If they have multiple children, then they should have multiple tags … Communication home will be sent via robo-call, email, and on school Dojo account. We will also ask for your support in sharing this with our families.
