JROTC Programs

The United States Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps (JROTC) came into being with the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916.  Currently, Duval County has students enrolled in 14 JROTC programs. The purpose of the JROTC program is to instill in students in US secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. The JROTC program promotes community involvement by developing patriotism, citizenship, self-reliance, and responsiveness to authority. The JROTC program also depends on many community members to ensure the program’s success.
