NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND VOTE
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA
Purpose and Effect: The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss and obtain public input pursuant to s. 1006.28 and 1006.283, Florida Statutes, regarding the following Instructional Materials proposed to be adopted and purchased District-wide by the School Board of Duval County, Florida, commencing with the 2025-2026 school year:
ELA Invervention Elementary K-3
Choice 1 : Lexia Learning Systems – Lexia® Core5® Reading - Language Arts - K-3
Choice 2: Savvas Learning Company LLC - Grades K-3 English Language Arts Intervention
Choice 3: Amira Learning - Amira
Subject Areas to be Addressed: Adoption of Instructional Materials for the items listed above, pursuant to sections 1006.28 and 1006.283, Florida Statutes.
A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THESE PROPOSED INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS ADOPTIONS WILL BE HELD AT THE TIME, DATE AND PLACE SHOWN BELOW:

The cost for implementation is the cost to post the public hearing notice. Pursuant to s. 1006.283(2)(b)8., F.S., student editions of the above-proposed Instructional Materials can be accessed and viewed online by the public beginning January 2, 2025 (which is at least twenty calendar days before the February 4, 2025 board meeting) by visiting the Instructional Materials Webpage located off the Academic Services Department at: https://dcps.duvalschools.org/Page/33747 . Pursuant to s. 1006.28(2)(a)2., F.S., a parent or resident may file a petition to contest the School Board’s adoption of specific instructional materials within thirty (30) days after the School Board’s adoption, which form of petition will be made available to the public and published on the district’s website.
