The Role of a Parent Leader

Parent Leaders are committed to the success of all Duval County Public School students. This dedicated group of caregivers works closely with Duval Schools' staff to make a positive impact on their neighborhood, community, and its schools.

Parent Leaders receive direct communication from district staff, have the opportunity to participate in counsels, committees, and district development opportunities. This leadership program provides a unique networking opportunity that connects individuals to district representatives as well as other parents advocates throughout the community.

The distinguished role of the Parent Leader may assist Parent Academy staff with the successful implementation of the Parent Academy initiative. Parent Leaders may be utilized to facilitate Parent Academy courses as well as volunteer to represent the program and participate in events held throughout the school year. Parent Leaders are individuals, such as parents, caregivers, and community members who support all students in attaining academic success.
