What information is needed before submitting an application?

Before submitting an application, you want to make sure you provide the requested information and the documentation that shows you are eligible for the position.  

Required Information

Social Security Number | Reference Contact Information | Email Address | Date of Birth |Driver's License (if required)

Eligibility Documentation

All applicants must provide proof of their eligibility for the position for which they are applying.  This documentation will vary based on the position but reviewing the list below will be helpful.

  • Degree-Conferred Transcripts  with Date of Award and Degree/Major

  • Passing Score Report (if required)

  • Resume - Though optional, if you are applying for a position that requires specific experience requirements, including a resume will aide staff in      determining your eligibility for the position.

Failure to provide the requested information may result in your application being deactivated.

Should I use a specific browser when I apply? - Yes, our applicant system works best with Google Chrome.

Why is my Social Security number needed to apply with Duval County Public Schools?
Duval County Public Schools collects your Social Security number for legitimate business purposes during the recruitment, selection and hiring process. Once you are employed, your Social Security number will be used for completing state and federally mandated reports and actions that require such, including but not limited to the following:

  • Cost reporting [237.34 F.S.]

  • Employment application for determining certification eligibility [1012.56 F.S.]

  • Completion of federal I-9 form for the filing and issuance of federal employment forms [8 USC 1324a(b)]

  • Completion of federal W-4 form for filing and issuance of federal employment forms [8 USC 1324a(b)]

  • Florida Retirement Contribution Report [119.071(5)(a)6.b.]

  • Conducting criminal background screening [1012.56 F.S.]

How do I apply for employment?
Open positions are posted by school and department through our TalentEd system.  Each job posting lists the Minimum Qualifications for the position.  As you review positions, it is important to review these qualifications to make sure you are eligible.  Once you have found the position(s) of interest, you simply click the apply button at the end of the posting.  Below you will find our step by step application voice over presentation to guide you through the process.
