Student Option For Success (SOS)

Program Description:

The SOS Program is an after-school counseling program for students (and parents) Grades 3-12 who are experiencing disciplinary problems in traditional school settings. The program is free for families.

Program Offerings:

  • Targeted social skills instruction in a small group setting

  • Opportunities for parents & students to interact with other families, developing better communication and interpersonal skills

  • Trained facilitators dedicated to helping families reinforce expectations and positive behaviors

  • Separate Elementary & Secondary Classes

  • Decision Making

  • Academic Achievement

  • Goal Setting

  • Anger Management

Program Locations and Schedule:

  • Riverside High School – 1200 McDuff Ave. N 32205

  • Englewood High School – 4412 Barnes Rd. S 32207

  • William M Raines High School – 3663 Raines Ave. 32209

  • Sandalwood High School – 2750 John Prom Blvd. 32246

  • Twin Lakes Academy Middle School – 8050 Point Meadows Dr. 32256

  • Andrew Jackson High School (Saturdays Only) – 3816 N. Main St. 32206

Classes will run for three (3) weeks, two (2) nights a week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m OR three (3) weeks, on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

Student and parent/guardian are required to make up all missed classes.  Program manager will work with families to complete the program when classes are missed.
