• School Choice Showcase January 1 - February 28

  • Are you interested in enrolling at a particular school for the next school year? Or maybe you have a few schools in mind. Contact the schools that interest you and set up a tour. The deadline to apply for the magnet school or special transfer school lottery is Tuesday, February 28. Taking a tour provides you with a preference in the lottery.

    Tips for your tour:

    Be prepared. You can explore your school choices in our School Choice Reference Guide or our School Showcase Planner.

    Make sure to take notes and ask about:

    1. Enrollment requirements
    2. Before/after school care
    3. Transportation options
    4. Electives and special programs
    5. Clubs and sports
    6. Uniform requirements 

    Talk with leadership and other parents, and make sure you have all your questions answered. When you are ready to enroll, go to www.duvalschools.org/enroll for application instructions. If you have enrollment questions, you can call us Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the School Choice Hotline at 904-348-7777.

  • Traditional Comprehensive Schools

    Traditional Comprehensive Schools offer an education with a whole-child approach right in your attendance area or neighborhood. Transportation is provided for free. Want to find your neighborhood schools? Go to www.duvalschools.org/locator

  • Magnet Schools

    Our magnet schools offer specialized courses of study that satisfy students' educational interests while promoting diversity. Parents apply for magnets from January 1 - February 28. Transportation is provided with some exceptions. To learn more, review our school reference guide.

  • Special Transfer Schools

    Special Transfer Option Schools are traditional comprehensive schools that are outside of your neighborhood or attendance area zone. Parents apply for special transfer option schools from January 1 - February 28. Transportation is not provided.
