Our medical magnet program isn’t just for future medical doctors. Darnell-Cookman students have unrivaled opportunities to explore other fields through a health care lens, including medical engineering and business administration. All our students participate in intensive college preparation and build exemplary résumés for the future. Our dual enrollment program with Florida State College at Jacksonville allows our students to begin earning college credit as early as 10th grade.

Medical Arts - Academically Talented (6-8)
The program offers a stimulating and rigorous learning environment that encourages students to reach their highest potential. Through specialized coursework, hands-on projects, and creative inquiry in medical and health sciences, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. It also supports social-emotional growth, fostering intellectual development and professional confidence for success in demanding academic and clinical settings.
Medical Arts - Gifted (6-8)
The program provides a challenging and enriching learning environment for gifted students interested in health and medical sciences. Through advanced coursework, hands-on projects, and creative exploration, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills. Students must be staffed as Gifted to participate, and the program builds the confidence and foundation needed for success in high school, college, and future healthcare careers.
College Preparatory/Medical Arts (9-12)
Our school offers a rigorous college preparatory Medical Arts Program featuring a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses that challenge students and strengthen critical thinking skills. In a supportive and engaging academic environment, students develop the independence, discipline, and problem-solving abilities needed for success in college and healthcare-related fields. The program prepares students for higher education and a variety of post-secondary opportunities in the medical and health sciences.
Biomedical Science
Explore the exciting world of life sciences through our Medical Arts Program, where students can pursue interests in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, marine biology, molecular biology, and many other dynamic fields.
