Mandarin Oaks Elementary inspires and prepares every student for success through active engagement in quality educational opportunities. We strive to engage students to become active learners and lovers of learning. Using differentiated instruction, providing enrichment programs, and fostering strong bonds with families are essential to this mission. Incorporating cooperative learning strategies, students work together in diverse groups while teachers support their learning. Acquiring knowledge from each other is of utmost importance.
Mandarin Oaks Elementary is extremely passionate about providing the best education for our gifted and talented students. We are thrilled to have been selected as one of eight elementary schools to offer the Gifted and Talented Education (G.A.T.E.) program as a non-dedicated magnet school. Our vision is to provide unique opportunities for our high-achieving students to delve deeper into content areas as well as prepare them for various in-demand S.T.E.M. fields.
Project Lead the Way aims to improve higher science achievement scores by providing students with pathways to computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. The programs offers training modules for teachers and learning modules for students that transform their grasp on STEM subjects.
Exceptional Student Education at Mandarin Oaks is geared to help students succeed in an environment where they are cared for and understood. ESE programs include Connecting Thru Music and Andrew Turner Track Meet.
At Mandarin Oaks, we offer opportunities to participate in musical performances, art festivals, choir, 4H club, patrols, National Honor Society, and much more! We love to get parents involved by hosting family-friendly events like Fall Festival, movie nights, game nights, and dances. Our school community consists of so much more than rigorous classroom instruction — we nurture the whole child. We understand that parents are an important part of our students' educational success.
We are pleased to be part of a new program called Precious Not Prickly, sponsored by a grant from the American Civility organization. This will bring a huge focus of kindness and character trait training to our campus. In addition, our award-winning PTA and community partners work tirelessly to offer memorable experiences for not only our students but for the community at large.
Our vision is to provide unique opportunities for our high-achieving students, including rigor and differentiation to meet students' needs. We also provide purposeful lessons to support our students’ social and emotional needs.
