July 22, 2025 – Whether they were reading stories aloud, conducting science experiments, or learning new vocabulary words, the goal was always the same:
“It’s immersing them in the classroom in the English language with work that’s right on level for them,” said third grade teacher Rachel Miller.
Team Duval's ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Summer Maintenance Program invited English Language Learners in grades K-12 to participate in six weeks of engaging and enriching activities designed to strengthen their command of the English language.
“We’re reinforcing the things that they learned during the year,” said kindergarten teacher Karina Rios.
