Welcome to Our House!

Gregory Drive Elementary is nestled in a quiet, little neighborhood on Jacksonville’s west side — but there’s nothing quiet nor little about GDE. We are loud and proud of our students, the families we serve, our faculty and staff, and our overall commitment to excellence in education. We say “Welcome to our House,” where we have high-achieving, outstandingly motivated, and uniquely inspired students and educators!

Recognized for Our Growth in Reading

Gregory Drive was recognized as one of the top schools with the most academic reading growth in the district! Our team worked hard and exceeded our goals. We have scheduled specific times in our school day to work with individual students on what they need to master. Faculty members collaborate and adapt lessons to reach every student through remediation and enrichment for the entire school year. We are committed to continued success at 7800 Gregory Drive.

Fostering Strong Relationships With Our Families

Our GDE parents and families are our students’ first teachers. We recognize that and are continually working on building engagement and relationships that will help foster success for all. From monthly academic-focused family nights to Mommy’s Night Out and family luncheons, we value our community! We also employ a parent liaison and offer a parent resource room with technology and materials parents/families can utilize to help support their child’s work and learning goals.

Building Up The Whole Child

Students are welcomed daily with that same energy of building engagement and relationships. At GDE, the well-being of ALL students is important. We are building up the WHOLE CHILD. Students are encouraged to think critically and develop skills that will prepare them for the rest of their educational journey— to college and beyond, or whatever career they desire. We fully adopt the district motto, excellence for every student, every day!
