The Sky's the Limit at Kernan Middle
It would be easy to think of middle school simply as a transition from childhood to high school, kind of a way station or holding pattern. At Kernan, we see middle school as a priceless period for a student to blossom into the best version of themselves. Yes, we expect a lot from our children but through the development of self-reliance, responsibility and confidence, our students see their own worth and set their own high expectations. Kernan Middle School is a place where we all learn with excitement, believe in each other and explore the unlimited and exciting opportunities ahead.

Our families come from many backgrounds and appreciate that Kernan offers children the chance to experience true diversity while in a secure neighborhood school setting. Kernan students thrive in our supportive, “can do” culture. They know that our teachers are invested in their well-being, academic progress, and future success. This brings a campus-wide sense of pride in performance and leads to each feeling confident in their abilities. We also make middle school memorable, allowing students to discover new interests through extracurricular offerings such as band, guitar, theater, art, computer/digital technology, and more. Our Kernan Ospreys practice good sportsmanship and teamwork by participating in or cheering on our many sports teams. Our Osprey school spirit truly soars!
Preparing for High School and College
At Kernan Middle School, we know one of our most important jobs is giving our students the foundation they need to excel in high school, college and careers. Through innovation and acceleration, we offer children the chance to achieve this and more. Our Gifted and Talented Education Academy (GATE) program provides gifted curricula for all core content areas. In addition, Kernan students can enroll in Pre-Early College, a highly sought-after elective providing the opportunity to earn valuable high school and college credits. We keep our eyes on the future with programs such as our Global Scholars elective, connecting our children with students around the world through interactive, online classrooms. Your child will learn that the sky’s the limit when it comes to their capacity to learn, grow and accomplish.
