Testing Accommodations

Students who currently have an IEP or 504 Plan may qualify for testing accommodations on the ACT, SAT, and PSAT, on AP Exams, and on CLT Assessments. Below is a guide for how accommodations are processed for each test.

College Board Accommodations (PSAT, SAT & AP Exams)

If your student’s accommodations were approved by College Board prior to the 2025-2026 school year, no further action is needed.

If your student’s accommodations were not approved prior to the 2025-2026 school year, please follow the guidelines below:

  • For students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)

    • During the student’s IEP meeting, accommodations are reviewed and confirmed.

    • The school submits accommodations request to College Board for approval.

    • Once approved, College Board will send a decision letter. In general, approval applies to all College Board tests (PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams), but be sure to read your decision letter carefully.

  • For students with a 504 Plan

    • As a family, you are responsible for initiating accommodations requests and managing accommodations directly with College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) department.

    • Parents must fill out the SSD Student Eligibility form (linked below) , print it, and send it, along with required documentation, directly to College Board.

      • FORM: SSD Student Eligibility Form

      • GUIDE: How to Fill Out the SSD Student Eligibility Form

      • All sections (except Section 16 – Confirming Information and Signature) must be completed. An incomplete student eligibility form will cause processing delays.

      • Before you start, you’ll need to know the following:

        • ACHS's College Board Code -- 102320

        • Which test your student will be taking

        • The student’s diagnosis and what methods of evaluation were used

        • What accommodations you intend to request

        • What accommodations are currently provided at school

        • The date of your student’s current 504 plan and the date of your student’s first 504 plan.

      • If you need a copy of your student’s 504 plan for documentation, please contact Mr. Zamudio; ask for a copy of the eligibility determination and accommodations plan.

      • Mail or fax the completed form, along with documentation, to the address or number on the form.

Important: Approval can take several weeks. It’s best to apply early to ensure accommodations are in place before test day.

ACT Accommodations

The ACT requires students to request accommodations individually at the time of registration.

How to Apply:

  • When registering for the ACT, students must indicate that they need accommodations.

  • The request is then sent to our Testing Coordinator and information is sent to ACT Services for Students with Disabilities for approval.

  • Once approved, accommodations will be applied to the student’s ACT exam.

Important: Unlike College Board, ACT may require accommodations to be requested for each test session, so students must go through the approval process for every ACT they take.

CLT (Classic Learning Test) Accommodations

For students taking the CLT (Classic Learning Test), accommodations must be requested directly through CLT.

How to Apply:

  • Students submit their accommodation request when registering for the CLT.

  • Supporting documentation, such as an IEP or 504 Plan, must be provided.

  • CLT reviews and approves accommodations on a case-by-case basis.

Important: CLT has its own accommodation guidelines and may require additional documentation.
