DCPS Computer

Douglas Anderson School of the Arts issues computers to all students. It is the student's responsibility to maintain the computer so it can be used during the student's years at DA.

STUDENT MAINTENANCE

DCPS Student Computer Updates

1. Students whose computers seem to be running slowly need to install any updates (see instructions in link above)

2. Students should also clear any browsing data. To do this

Log on to your laptop.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the clear data window.

Choose a Time range ( All time) from the drop-down menu.

Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files, and Download history

Click Delete from this device

3. Students should be shutting down the computer at least once a week. This is more than just closing up the computer. You need to turn the computer off so it can rest from all the input it has been receiving.

BEYOND STUDENT MAINTENANCE

Students having issues with their password or the functionality of their DCPS computer can resolve them in one of two ways: through the district phone number or through the school-based contact.

District assistance:

For assistance with DCPS Blended Learning Platforms, OneView Public User Accounts, Focus School Software:

Call 904-348-5200

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

School-based assistance:

For assistance with computer hardware and passwords, the reporting protocol is via a form to be completed by the student or parent on a home computer or phone. It will be logged, and the technology will be sent to the on-campus tech. If it is a hardware issue, once the form is completed, the student will need to bring the computer to Building 2, Room 28.
