Welcome to the Englewood High School Sports Medicine Webpage!

Dear Athletes, Parents, Coaches, Staff and Friends:

This page is designed to provide you important information about our comprehensive Sports Medicine Program.  In this site you will find information about our athletic training room, policies and best practices for sports medicine.  You will also find important contact information for our medical staff and forms we use when an athlete is injured.

Please visit this site often to become familiar with our program and to review ways we can together keep our kids safe from injury or help them with a complete recovery should an injury occur.

Our ultimate goal is to prevent athletic injury and to keep all kids on the field.

What is a Certified Athletic Trainer?

Certified Athletic Trainers (ATs) are licensed health care professionals who collaborate with physicians. The services provided by ATs comprise prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. ATs work under the direction of physicians, as prescribed by state licensure statutes. Certification is earned through the Board of Certification (National Athletic Trainers Association).

Mrs. Blake Mace, MS, ATC, LAT

Englewood High School Head Athletic Trainer:

Originally from Georgetown, Ohio, she is a 2008 graduate of Ripley High School.  As an athlete growing up and experiencing multiple injuries, this led to an inspiration to help other athletes as an athletic trainer.  After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Shawnee State University, she moved south for opportunities and warmer weather.  She has worked in the field since 2014 and has been with Englewood High School since 2015.  In 2017 she graduated from Jacksonville University with a Master of Science in Kinesiology.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, kayaking, and spending time with her husband and animals.
