We are a dedicated middle school magnet whose theme is military leadership; we are not a military school nor is our approach to education militant. Our cadets follow a structured routine that facilitates academic and physical growth in a nurturing environment. We are a dedicated magnet school that offers the following outstanding academic opportunities:

1. Joseph Stilwell is the only magnet in Duval County that offers program continuity to all the high school magnets:  Paxon School for Advanced Studies, Stanton College Preparatory, Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts, Samuel Wolfson School for Advanced Studies and Leadership, Robert E. Lee for the Engineering program, Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technologies, and Edward H. White High School

2. In addition to all the courses necessary for our cadets to be High school ready, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies we also offer:

a. Advanced courses  

b. High school credit courses such as Geometry and Biology

c. Technical Career Certifications including Cyber security, Word Processing and more.

3. Leadership classes for all grade levels that are career-oriented classes where cadets learn necessary life skills such as:

a. Resume writing, basic financial literacy such as what is a budget, why do we need one as well as what is a credit score. 

b. Soft skills that will help them successful things like time management, communication, teamwork, adaptability and active listening skills.

4. To further ensure that our cadets are successful we offer all cadets academic support before and after school and programs such as Team-up and AFL.
