ESE Department
At Mandarin Oaks Elementary School, we believe every child can learn, grow, and succeed in an environment where they feel valued, supported, and encouraged. Our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department is committed to providing individualized instruction and meaningful learning experiences that help each student reach their fullest potential.
We proudly serve students in Pre-K through fifth grade through our Supported Level for Academics (SLA), Participatory Level for Academics (PLA), and Physically Impaired (PI) programs. Each classroom is led by a highly qualified teacher certified in both General Education and Exceptional Student Education and supported by an experienced paraprofessional. Together, they create nurturing, engaging classrooms where students are challenged, celebrated, and empowered every day.
Our dedicated team recognizes that every learner is unique. We use a variety of evidence-based instructional practices, individualized accommodations, and low to high-tech assistive technology to support communication, learning, independence, and participation across all areas of the school day. We also collaborate closely with families and related service providers to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.
At Mandarin Oaks, we celebrate each student’s strengths while helping them build new skills, confidence, and independence. We are proud to partner with our families to create a caring school community where every child is encouraged to shine. If you have any questions or would like to request a tour, please contact our ESE Coordinator, Nicole Critch.
