Assistant Principal

Dear Ramona Boulevard Elementary Families and Community,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Ramona Boulevard Elementary School. I am truly honored to become part of a school and community that already takes such pride in serving its children.

Although I am new to Ramona Boulevard, I am entering my fifth year as an Assistant Principal with Duval County Public Schools and my fifteenth year in education. I am a proud Jacksonville native, born and raised on the north side of our city. I attended Highlands Elementary, Highlands Middle, and graduated from First Coast High before earning my Bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida.

Ironically, education was never my original career plan. While attending college, I began working as a substitute teacher, and that experience changed the direction of my life. I discovered a passion for helping children learn, grow, and realize their potential.

That passion led me to spend seven years teaching at Susie E. Tolbert Elementary before serving as the Reading Interventionist and Reading Coach at Jacksonville Heights Elementary. During that time, I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, graduating with a 4.0 GPA in 2022. I then had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal at Highlands Estates Academy for the past four years. Each step of my journey has prepared me for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff of Ramona Boulevard Elementary.

I am a proud husband to my wife, Jazzman, and a proud father of six amazing children, with out seventh child expected this December. Being a father has shaped the way I lead. Every child who walks through our doors deserves to feel safe, valued, challenged, and loved. I want every family to know that I would want for my own.

I firmly believe that every child can succeed when adults work together. Success happens through strong relationships, open communication, high expectations, and a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students. My work ethic is something I take great pride in. You can expect me to be visible throughout the building, engaged in students, supportive of teachers, and available to families. I believe schools are strongest when their educators and families partner together with one common purpose - doing what is best for children.

This year, we begin an exciting journey with our school theme, "Breaking the Code to Success." Together, we will unlock every student's potential as we strive to become an "A" school. I believe Ramona Boulevard has everything it takes to achieve that goal because great schools are built by great people working together.

Since arriving, I've hear many people say, "There's no place like The Boulevard!" I couldn't agree more. My hope is that together we make those words known not only throughout Duval County, but across the state of Florida as a school recognized for excellence, opportunity, and unwavering commitment to children.

Thank you for welcoming me into the Ramona family. I look forward to meeting each of you, building meaningful relationships, and serving this incredible community. My door is always open, and I am excited to partner with you as we help every Eagle soar.

Here's to an amazing school year as we Break the Code to Success!
