Greetings Eagles!

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year! Our theme for this school year is “Game On: Level Up!” This theme is especially fitting as we work together toward becoming an “A”-rated school.

One of our top priorities is to align our efforts with the district’s strategic plan by increasing literacy proficiency, with the goal of  increasing proficiency toward the ultimate goal of 90% of  students in kindergarten – 5th grade scoring proficient on the FAST PM 3 Assessment. Achieving this ambitious goal will require relentless commitment, collaboration, and support from all stakeholders.

Together, we can bring literacy into the daily lives of our Eagles at both home and school. When parents commit to reading with their children for at least 20 minutes each day, they help strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and a lifelong love of reading. Every minute spent reading moves us closer to our goal of developing proficient and confident readers.

Equally important, all students must attend school every day, all day, and on time. Consistent attendance provides students with access to high-quality instruction, meaningful learning experiences, and the support they need to succeed.

Our goals for the 2026–2027 school year are to:

• Increase daily student attendance to 94%.

• Increase mathematics proficiency to 60% of students scoring proficient on the 2027 FAST PM 3 Assessment.

• Increase student ownership of learning by developing student leaders through Student Academic Teams.

• Empower every student to do their Eagle’s Best every day.

• Create a culture of academic excellence, leadership, responsibility, and perseverance.

• Increasing parent participation by attending monthly Family Engagement Nights

• Motivating all parents to join PTA

While we encourage every parent and family member to take an active role in their child’s education, we must always place safety first. Every visitor must present valid identification when entering Southside Estates Elementary School. Our number-one priority is to maintain a safe, welcoming, and motivating learning environment for all of our Eagles.

It is both a privilege and an honor to collaborate with you as we continue building a culture of excellence and fostering an environment where every child can learn, lead, and thrive.
