WESTSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY

**Westside Middle School enforces the Duval County Public Schools uniform policy and Appearance Code. Refusal to comply with the uniform policy will result in a violation of the Student Code of Conduct AND Parent Pick-Up*** 

We expect all students to adhere to the dress code and dress for daily success.

Required Westside logo items are NOT sold at the school. 

 

 

  1. Tops: Students must wear a uniform shirt/polo shirt purchased from the uniform vendor with the Westside logo. ***Shirts Without The Logo are NOT PERMITTED.*** These items are not available for purchase at the school. Prior year Uniforms: Only the rising 7th and 8th-grade uniforms purchased during the 25/26 school year will be permitted.  

  • 6th Grade Shirt/Jacket Color - GREY 

  • 7th Grade Shirt/Jacket Color - RED 

  • 8th Grade Shirt/Jacket Color BLACK 

 2. BOTTOMS: Black pants or shorts only. Bottoms must fit and be secured at the waist. Shorts must be hemmed, school-appropriate, and no shorter than mid-thigh. 

****Skirts, Jeans, Sweatpants, Joggers, Leggings, Jeggings, Pajama Pants, and Bottoms With Tears, Rips, Holes, and/or Frays ARE NOT PERMITTED**** 

 3. Shoes: Closed-toe shoes with a back are required.  

**Flip-flops, sandals, slides, shower shoes, bedroom slippers, fur boots, Crocs, and shoes without a back ARE NOT PERMITTED.  

 4. Outerwear: Only outerwear purchased from the approved uniform vendor and displaying the Westside logo is permitted. ***Hoodies, Jackets, Pullovers, Jersey Shirts ARE NOT PERMITTED!*** 

 5. Head coverings: Students can wear elastic headbands. Hats, hoods/hoodies, scarves used as head coverings, coats worn over the head, ski masks, bandanas, sunglasses, bonnets, and hair curlers ARE NOT PERMITTED ON CAMPUS. **Exceptions may be made for religious observance, documented medical need, or administrative approval.** 

 6. Student IDs: Students will receive an initial ID free of charge. IDs must be worn around the neck on a lanyard at all times while on campus, on school transportation, and at school-sponsored events. The photo must remain visible and unobstructed. 

**All replacements are $5 PER ITEM (ID Card, ID Case, Lanyard). Students may pick their own lanyard.**  

 7. Backpacks: All backpacks MUST be clear or mesh. Clear and mesh backpacks are available at our uniform vendor's store/ website. Backpacks that are not transparent or mesh will be confiscated as they are NOT PERMITTED.
