On April 5th, DCPS partnered with JAXUSA and CareerSource to host the 2nd Annual Employment Fair. Students from across the district interfaced with nearly 85+ companies and military branches to learn about potential employment opportunities and job openings. Many students got job offers! One segment of the event featured a breakout session with Travis Pickney of College and Career RED to help energize students prior to meeting with employers. He really got the students amped up and motivated!
A tremendous shoutout to Westside High School. They went above and beyond for their students. Staff at Westside had a professional clothing drive, offered resume writing workshops, and hosted prep sessions prior to the event to ensure their students were well-prepared to meet a future employer. Their confidence level projected loudly as they entered the building. Eighty plus strong in attendance, they were on a mission to succeed, and they did. Way to go!
