Solar Eclipse:  As you are aware, on Monday August 21, we will experience the rare event we call an eclipse.  We are excited about this happening during the school day and we want to share that with our students.  However, you need to be aware of the safety considerations.  We are sending home a safety letter and a permission slip in your child’s science class if you would like him or her to view the eclipse.  Half of our students will get it today and the other half tomorrow.  I am attaching the forms just in case it is lost on the way home or your child is absent.  We have 500 pair of safety glasses and we will be escorting students out to view this phenomenon under the guidance of our science teachers.  If you want your child to participate, simply read and sign the safety-warning sheet and the permission form.  They are on the same paper!  This permission form should come to school with your child on Monday and will serve as their pass to the viewing.

The Bus Routes for 2017-2018 are now published. Click on the link for now, or check under the parent tab, or Quick Links to get to them in the future. Please make sure your child knows how they are getting home in the afternoon and which bus to take and where it will stop. Twin Lakes has 38 different buses that transport students and so it is very important that your student knows their correct bus number.  If you are unsure which bus comes closest to your neighborhood, you can also contact the transportation office at (904) 381-RIDE.

Attached are schedule change request forms.  There are two different forms - one is for Core Classes (ELA, Math, Science or Social Studies) and the other one is for an Elective Change.  True errors will be processed before special requests.  Please only submit one request per scheduling problem.  During the first ten days of school, we have to wait to see how many students show up and are in place before we start moving students around for overcrowding issues.  Be patient and we will be in contact with you.  Thank you.

Elective changes will only take place if there is room to move them in to a new elective.  Elective changes will be the last schedule changes that will be processed, so please be very patient.

Twin Lakes Academy Middle School is happy to announce that we will be serving free breakfast and lunch for all students this year.  Breakfast is served in the cafeteria between 9:00 am and 9:25 am and students have a choice of a quick bag with granola bar, yogurt and milk or a freshly prepared hot breakfast.  During lunches students have the choice of the hot meal of the day or a sandwich or salad from the deli line. Students who wish to purchase snacks will do so during the last 15 minutes of each lunch.  Students who are assigned to ISSP, will have their breakfast and lunch delivered to the ISSP Classroom.
