  • ACHIEVE - WHAT'S YOUR LEVEL?

Do you want to get a higher score on your FSA Reading and improve your lexile score?  Do you have 30-45 minutes to spare?  Then complete one or more Achieve Articles every day while trying to score 88% or higher on the first try.  Making an 88 or 100 on the first try in Achieve helps improve your Lexile Reading Level; scoring 75% leaves it sitting still and not growing; and scoring less than 75% may drop the lexile level. So remember:  take your time, do not rush through the articles, and do your best the very first time!

Sixth grade lexile goal is a minimum of 925
Seventh grade lexile goal is a minimum of 975
Eighth grade lexile goal is a minimum of 1025

Welcome

  • Teal Nation

Welcome to the Den! Twin Lakes Academy Middle School (TLAM) is home to approximately 1300 students in grades 6-8 from Beach Boulevard to Bartram Springs. The school is centrally located on the southside of Jacksonville. Its location on Baymeadows Road along Interstate 295N makes it accessible regardless of place of residence. We offer comprehensive and challenging curricula from our most challenging gifted courses to our more supportive intensive courses in reading and math. Students who meet our prerequisite classes have the opportunity to take up to five high school classes (Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, Digital Information Technology and Spanish I) during their time at TLAM. We also have a state-of-the-art STEM lab, 2D and 3D visual arts rooms, a comprehensive band and choral suite and two computer labs. Each academic classroom is equipped with a laptop cart and a large screen digital display screen with a student response system.  In addition, we have a full range of opportunities available in athletics, the arts, and a variety of clubs and activities.
