BREAKING NEWS

  • 6th Grade Summer Bridge

     

    All 6th grade students are invited to attend the TLAM Summer Bridge on August 1st & 2nd (this is a 2-day program) to help prepare you for the beginning of school. It will be loaded with fun and games and you will get to meet many of your 6th grade teachers, administrators, and future friends.  Hours are 8:45 - 1:45.  Drop off and pick-up will be in the back parking lot (bus loop area).    Students should wear t-shirts, shorts, and athletic shoes.  All clothing should be school appropriate - no tank-tops, camis, bathing suits, cut-offs, string tops, exposed midrift tops, etc.

  • DATE CHANGE for ID PICTURES:     

     

    All students who are new to Twin Lakes Academy Middle School (all incoming 6th graders and new 7th & 8th graders), student ID pictures will be made in the media center from 9:00 am to Noon on August 1st and 2nd.  This is not for returning students - your ID pictures will be made once school starts.

  • SUPPLY LIST 

     

    Attached you will find the generic supply list for Twin Lakes Academy Middle School.  These are just the basic items and teachers will supply additional items once school begins.  Click here for the 2017-2018 Generic Supply List. Backpacks and string bags are not allowed to be carried around during the school day and must be stored in lockers before the beginning of 1st Period or 5th Period.  Students are able to go to their lockers after each class period and will pick up backpacks after the dismissal bell.

  • FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR ALL STUDENTS

     

    Twin Lakes Academy Middle School is happy to announce that we will be serving free breakfast and lunch for all students this year.  Breakfast is served in the cafeteria between 9:00 am and 9:25 am and students have a choice of a quick bag with granola bar, yogurt and milk or a freshly prepared hot breakfast.  During lunches students have the choice of the hot meal of the day or a sandwich or salad from the deli line. Students who wish to purchase snacks will do so during the last 10 minutes of each lunch.  Students who are assigned to ISSP, will have their breakfast and lunch delivered to the ISSP Classroom.

  • FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

     

    Mark your calendars --- the First Day of School for 2017-2018 is on Monday, August 14.  School Hours are 9:30 am to 4:15 pm.  Student drop-off is at the front of the school between 9:00 and 9:25. Buses unload at the back of the school in the bus loop area.

    Welcome to the Den! Twin Lakes Academy Middle School (TLAM) is home to approximately 1300 students in grades 6-8 from Beach Boulevard to Bartram Springs. The school is centrally located on the southside of Jacksonville. Its location on Baymeadows Road along Interstate 295N makes it accessible regardless of place of residence. We offer comprehensive and challenging curricula from our most challenging gifted courses to our more supportive intensive courses in reading and math. Students who meet our prerequisite classes have the opportunity to take up to five high school classes (Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, Digital Information Technology and Spanish I) during their time at TLAM. We also have a state-of-the-art STEM lab, 2D and 3D visual arts rooms, a comprehensive band and choral suite and two computer labs. Each academic classroom is equipped with a laptop cart and a large screen digital display screen with a student response system.  In addition, we have a full range of opportunities available in athletics, the arts, and a variety of clubs and activities.
