Dear SCEA Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Saint Clair Evans Academy. I would like to let you know that our students and teacher worked very hard in math and reading, and that was evident in our gains in math proficiency and growth on FSA. Our students and staff worked successfully to accomplish this increase and I am very proud of them! Eagles Never Give Up! We still have work to do in reading and we will. Our school grade increased to a “C”, and now we will build to a “B”. All efforts will be on getting students to read proficiently in all grades. Therefore, we need you to make sure your child is reading A “Million Words” this year.
This year our school theme is; “Under Construction Building Brilliant Minds!” Our goal is for students to continue to build learning to master high standards, and for teachers to work with all students so they have the tools they need to meet and exceed academic standards. We also want to continue to establish a partnership with our parents, make you are aware of the school curriculum and help you understand how our learning strategies will help your children grow.
The teachers at SCEA are committed to excellence and quality education. Our teachers are focused and ready to help our students to become proficient in a very positive and strategic way. Our school is truly a learning community, in which all of us are talking together, training together, planning together, and talking about instructional strategies together; an effective professional learning community for all stakeholders.
We hope that you join us and support us. Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and our School Advisory Council (SAC) can always use parents to give us ideas and assistance with school activities, so please join our PTA and consider becoming a part of our SAC team which meets once per month.
Thank you for supporting SCEA and your child's education. Together we can make a difference!
