Stingray Nation Weekly Update Atlantic Coast High School

Hello Stingray Nation,

We hope everyone enjoyed their three-day weekend and look forward to welcoming you all back on campus tomorrow morning, Tuesday, February 18th. Students remember that tomorrow will be a B-day.

Join us this Tuesday, February 18th, for the School Advisory Committee's annual Mid-Year Stakeholder's meeting at 6pm in the media center. Parents, Students and Community members are welcome to attend.

Senior parents make sure to mark your calendar so that you can attend our second semester senior parent meeting on Tuesday, February 25th, at 6pm in the auditorium. Attending this meeting will earn your student an additional ticket to graduation on top of all the valuable information we will be going over.

Don’t forget that quarter 3 progress reports are available to view in your Focus portal along with both the quarter 1 and 2 report cards.

The fourth annual Stingray Con will be held on Saturday, March 1st from 10am to 4pm here on campus. There will be many vendors and special guests set to appear along with the 4th Annual Smash Bros 64-player tournament! So come out and enjoy the fun! Students with a student ID can purchase a ticket for $5, general admission is $10, and family passes are $25. For more information check out the official Stingray Con Instagram @stingray.con or reach out to Mr. Rawlins.

Stingrays! The Course Selection process for the 2025–2026 school year begins this week. School counselors will meet with students individually to select courses for the upcoming year. Before their meeting with the counselor, students will attend grade-level scheduling assemblies. At the assembly, students will receive an updated School Resource Handout, a draft copy of the Course Request Card, the Atlantic Coast Course Progression, and the Course Description Guide to help them prepare for their one-on-one meeting with their school counselor. The draft Course Request Card must be completed prior to the scheduled meeting, which will be arranged through the students’ English classes. Parents, please review and discuss your student’s course options and selections. During the individual meeting, counselors will use the draft Course Request Card to finalize the official Course Request Card, and students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.
