Stingray Nation Weekly Update Atlantic Coast High School

Hello Stingray Nation!

Permission slips for Prom were distributed to 11th and 12th grade students in their English classes this week and were also emailed to them. A signed permission slip is required for all students to attend Prom. Guest forms are included on the back of the permission slip. Students bringing a guest must submit a completed permission slip along with a copy of their guest’s student ID before purchasing the guest ticket on School Cash Online.

The National Honor Society is hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser on March 7th from 10am-2pm. Bring your car by and let our NHS students give it a sparkling clean, all while supporting student-led service projects and community initiatives. To make things even more fun, we’ll be giving out random prizes throughout the day, including a special award for the Dirtiest Car of the Hour! (So don’t be shy… bring that mud!) Prizes include gift cards to V Pizza, free entrées from Texas Roadhouse, gift cards from Mali Thai, Outback Steakhouse, and more! Come for the clean car, stay for the fun, and help us make a difference. We can’t wait to see you there!

The next PERT will be offered on Wednesday, March 25th, after school. PERT is important for students who wish to take dual enrollment classes. It is also one avenue for earning senior leave. Students should check One View for qualification information and a link to a registration sign-up sheet. The sign-up will be open until Thursday, March 13th.

Seniors! Your final senior shirt will be available to pick up this week on Thursday, March 6th. You can pick up your shirt during all lunches from the windows to room 213, Ms. Lakatos’s room. If you have senior leave and don’t have lunch on campus, reach out to Ms. Lakatos to arrange a time to pick up your shirt. Also make sure you keep up to date with all the information you need as we make our way towards graduation in May. You can find everything online on the ACHS website on the senior update. The Course Selection process for the 2026–2027 school year is ongoing. School counselors will meet individually with students to select courses for the next school year. Before these meetings, students will attend grade-level scheduling assemblies where they will receive important information about graduation requirements, academic planning, and post-secondary options. On the A-day and B-day following the assembly, students will receive the following materials in their English classes: an updated Ray Ready Rundown (Planning Your Path to College and Career), a draft Course Request Card, the Atlantic Coast Course Progression, and the Course Description Guide. These materials are designed to help students prepare for their one-on-one meeting with their school counselor. The draft Course Request Card must be completed before the scheduled counseling meeting. Meeting times will be arranged through students’ English classes.

Parents are encouraged to review and discuss course options and selections with their student ahead of time. During the individual meeting, counselors will use the draft Course Request Card to finalize the official Course Request Card, and students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

Scheduling Assemblies:

  • Juniors: February 10th

  • Sophomores: February 24th

  • Freshmen: March 10th

School Counselor Course Selection Meetings:

  • Juniors: February 17th – March 6th

  • Sophomores: March 6th – March 27th

  • Freshmen: March 25th – April 9th

Thank you for your support as we help students plan for a successful school year ahead.

As always, if you have any feedback or input on our work here at Atlantic Coast please reach out to the school.
