There is no school tomorrow, Monday, September 7th. We will see you all on campus on Tuesday, September 8th.
Please join us for Open House next week on Monday, September 14th, from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM. Families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, meet their students’ teachers, and learn more about what’s happening at AC. We look forward to welcoming our Stingray families to campus!
This Wednesday and Thursday, September 9th and 10th, are important testing days for our students.
All 9th and 10th grade ELA students will take the FAST PM1 on September 9th. We will be on an alternate bell schedule on September 9th. You can view the schedule HERE.
All juniors and seniors who need only a math test score for graduation will take the Algebra 1 EOC on September 9th.
All Juniors and seniors who still need both reading and math test scores will take the FAST Reading Retake on September 9th and the Algebra 1 EOC on September 10th.
This information was emailed to each student's DCPS email; ask them to check. Attendance is essential. Students must use their DCPS laptop for these assessments. They should update their laptops the evening before and charge the device overnight. Loaner laptops are available for students who have not yet been issued a laptop. Please remind your student to get a good night of sleep and eat breakfast prior to testing. Juniors and seniors not testing will be assigned to a study hall location.
This week is Homecoming Week at Atlantic Coast! Be sure to dress up and show some spirit this week:
Tuesday is Make Yourself at Home! Wear your favorite PJs to school.
Wednesday is Game of Homes! Wear school colors or rep your club.
Thursday is Home Field Advantage! Rep your favorite sports team.
Friday is Home of the Stingrays! It’s a party in the USA so wear red, white and blue!
As we celebrate our spirit week, students are reminded that the school dress code remains in effect throughout the week. Weapons, masks, or face coverings of any kind are not permitted, including costume or prop weapons. Students’ faces must remain fully visible at all times.
Ray Rally is on Wednesday, September 9th, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is $1. Come out and enjoy a great evening of fun, games, and music! Athletic boosters will be selling Chick-fil-a during Ray Rally.
The Homecoming football game is this Friday, September 11th, vs Sandalwood. Tickets can be purchased on Go Fan. The theme of the game is Party in the USA! Wear red, white, and blue and come support our varsity football team. Kickoff is at 6:30pm. All homecoming court participants must arrive to the game in their semi-formal attire by 7:15pm.
The Homecoming Dance is this Saturday, September 12th, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Tickets are on sale for $40 on School Cash Online until Friday, September 11th, at 12:00 PM Noon. The ticket price increases to $50 at 12:00 PM Noon on September 11th. All guest tickets must be purchased no later than Noon on September 11th. ALL students (non-ACHS outside guests included) must present their IDs for entry into the dance. Students who want to bring a non-ACHS students as a guest must submit the fully completed form by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 8th. If you submitted a guest form by the deadline, your guest ticket should be available on your school cash online account by September 9th. Homecoming court members must arrive to the dance by 8:30 PM and stay for the crowning.

This is the final week for grades 9-11 to purchase the Underclassmen Bundle which includes a yearbook, an all-season sports pass, a Stingray Nation t-shirt and crewneck sweatshirt. The last day to purchase this bundle is September 12th.
Seniors can purchase the Senior Bundle which includes a yearbook, an all-season sports pass, senior clothing and gear, a ticket to prom and the new winter white out dance, and more! You can pay in full or you can make a down payment as part of the payment plan, your choice. Seniors have until October 1st to purchase their bundle.
Once you have made your purchase, you must show your receipt to Ms. Solomon during your lunch. You will find her in room 123 (next door to the media center).
Senior ad pages for this year’s yearbook are on sale at yearbookordercenter.com. This is also where you can place your orders for a yearbook. Last year we sold out of both senior ads and yearbooks. Right now is their lowest price of the year so don’t wait!
Seniors, be sure to schedule your senior photos with Cady Studios at cady.com/schedule. Only photos taken with Cady will be in the yearbook.
