For generations, Alfred I. duPont Middle School has provided young people with a supportive learning environment to help them navigate the complex years of adolescence. When young people learn in a diverse environment, it stimulates the mind and compels them to think in new ways. We champion dual-language learning and cultural inclusivity so that our students graduate better prepared for life in a global world.
The Dual Language Program at duPont allows students to learn their academic subjects in both English and Spanish. They are cohorted for all core classes and the majority of electives in either a standard or advanced track and have the same five core teachers for all 6th-8th grades. Our students receive world language high school credits in middle school, and they may be eligible to take high school math and science courses.
At Alfred I. duPont Middle School's International Business and World Language Academy, we promote the study of world language as a means of equipping students to become linguistically and culturally competitive in a growing global economy. Through our World Language Academy, students can earn high school credits in French, Spanish, or Chinese.
Named for the celebrated American philanthropist Alfred I. duPont, our school boasts faculty members from the U.S., Latin America, Turkey, India, Africa, and the Philippines.
