Three children in life jackets sit on a dock. Two wear red shirts, one has a blue shirt. Behind them, a bridge spans a body of water.

St. Johns Riverkeeper’s River Exploration (RiverX) boat trips immerse students in the natural world of the St. Johns River through an educational, on-the-water experience. Students increase their understanding of the science of our river and explore interconnectedness of our economy, community interaction, and river health.

Fifth grade students dive into the wonders of marine science at the Marine Science Education Center (Atlantic Beach). Through hands-on learning, students observe marine animals under microscopes, handle live sea creatures in the wet lab, and explore fossils in the on-site museum. The learning continues on the beach where students walk the shoreline, collect shells, and learn about Florida's coastal environment.

DCPS Minecraft Lab at Springfield Middle School is a collaboration with Minecraft Education. Your student's teacher will pre-select an experience that explores standards previously taught to the class. First, students will learn how to navigate and build in this virtual world. As Minecraft engineers students will explore their virtual world and use their tools to show mastery of content.
