Alden Road Exceptional Student Center provides learning experiences that develop employability and life skills, maximizing levels of independence that will enable students to actively and productively participate as young adults within the workforce and community. This is accomplished through uniquely designed learning experiences that are prescriptive to the individual needs of each student.
Students attending Alden Road will have the opportunity to develop academic and life skills, as well as vocational skills. Our Transition Program exposes students to real-life work environments through simulated work experiences known as enterprises. Each enterprise allows students to explore career opportunities such as culinary, retail, janitorial, and 3D printing to name a few.
Alden Road utilizes several partner agencies to enhance the learning experiences for all students, including The Arc Jacksonville, off-campus CBVE, STRIVE, Chartwells, and Duval County Public Schools. These partner agencies provide learning and vocational support to students as well as employment opportunities.
