Good evening Bayview Braves,
I just wanted to share with you where Bayview's attendance was today for the 1st day of October!
Bayview has 384 students and.....29 students were absent. Which means 92% of Bayview Braves here and learning with their peers! AWESOME!
Let's keep it up! Remember-To celebrate perfect attendance for the entire Month of October we will have a "Glow Light" Dance Party for all grade levels on Friday, October 31st (student must attend every school day)!
Please encourage your Braves to show up and show out every day of October to attend the Dance Party!!!
Have a wonderful night!

Can you believe it is the 36th day of school and the last day of September? The 2025-2026 school year is flying by!
For September, to kick off attendance we celebrated students who had perfect attendance for the entire month by having an Ice Cream Social for our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students and an "Atten-DANCE" for our 3rd- 5th graders !
Do you want to know how many Braves had perfect attendance?!
112 Kindergarten -2nd graders and 97 3rd graders-5th graders!!!
So, we thought lets beat those numbers for October!! To celebrate perfect attendance we will have a "Glow Light" Dance Party for all grade levels on Friday, October 31st (student must attend every school day)!
Please encourage your Braves to show up and show out every day of October to attend the Dance Party!!!
Also, tomorrow starts Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Every Wednesday in the month of October- Let's wear as much pink as possible to show our support and raise awareness!
Please see attached for information from UF Health Jacksonville and the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville, in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Jax, who are offering FREE mammograms for qualified community members.
To qualify, you must:
1. Live in Duval County
2. Be uninsured
3. Be 40 years old or older
Have an amazing night!

We wanted to bring to your attention a safety and security protocol that is to be implemented immediately. The district previously sent notification out, but we understand that some may not have been connected at that time.
*All visitors to Bayview will be required to show ID to enter the school.
*Press the black speaker box. Someone will come on to answer you. You will need to show photo id every time, before entry.
*Front office has been directed that anyone who does not show their photo id will not be allowed into the school .
*You will be required to have a badge if leaving the vestibule to go into the main body of the school.
*Any time you are in the building, you will be required to wear the sticker so the faculty/staff knows that you have been cleared by the office.
Visitors to the building are asked not to keep the door open for others as each individual will need to be checked coming into the office.
Finally, please be kind to the front office workers. They are asked to do a very tough job and carry a huge weight in ensuring only viable individuals coming into our building. If they ask for clarification, they are doing so to be safe.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and all you do to keep our Braves safe!

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! This is just a reminder to come and join us tomorrow, Thursday, August 28 from 6-7pm for Open House! We would love to share with you your child's classroom, meet with their teacher and see the amazing work your child is completing daily!
We hope to see you there! Have a restful night!

At this time, most District schools are experiencing phone line disruptions where we are unable to call out or receive calls in. I wanted to inform you that we are working to get our phonelines back online. Please use Rooms if you need to reach your child's teacher.
Thank you so much!
Principal York

Todays transportation is going faster today- ALL Buses have arrived and left except bus 424. The estimated time for arrival is 15 more minutes. We will notify all Braves once it arrives! Thank you so much for an amazing day!

Today, was an amazing 1st day back! I apologize for our longer wait times for transportation. All students have been picked up and should be safely on their way home!
Have a wonderful and restful night and we look forward to seeing our Braves tomorrow!

Bus 846 has arrived and will be leaving Bayview in 5 minutes. Bus 919 is still waiting for a driver.

Buses are running late; We apologize for the late notice but are still waiting for bus 919 and bus 846. Once these buses arrive, we will notify parents immediately. Thank you for your patience!

Tomorrow, Monday, August 11th starts the 1st day of a brand new year of school! A few reminders, Monday and Tuesday parents will be able to walk your students to their classroom or to the cafeteria. If you are dropping off your student, please do not drop off before 8:00 am, as there is no staff available to monitor for safety. Please ensure that students arrive before 8:30 am or they will be considered tardy and you will need to sign them in.
Dismissal for walkers, car riders, and day care van riders will begin at 2:35 pm to allow for our students and staff to safely practice dismissal procedures. You must have a green 2025-2026 car rider decal in order to pick up your student from car riders. If you do not have one, you will need to come into the main office with your ID to receive one.
Aftercare will start next week with Wayman reaching out to you to let you know if your student or students have received a spot.
I hope everyone has a restful night and we look forward to welcoming our Braves back tomorrow at 8:00 am!
