Greetings, Stellar Families!
We are 4 days in and EVERY DAY has been POWERFUL! What an amazing start to our school year! Thank you for your continued support as we build a STELLAR legacy of POWER together!
HOUSE SORTING DAY!
Today was an exciting day at BELA! Our 3rd-grade students, along with our new 4th- and 5th-grade students, were officially sorted into their new HOUSES! Be sure to ask your student, “Which HOUSE are you in?” Please also take a moment to read the parent letter your child received today. It provides additional information about their HOUSE and what it represents. Throughout the year, we will host HOUSE Gatherings, and our families will be invited to join in the fun! Because our HOUSE system is an important part of our BELA culture and community, we want every family to know and celebrate the HOUSE their child represents.
Tomorrow is FUN FRIDAY!
All students should wear their BELA Spirit Shirt tomorrow and come ready to show their STELLAR school spirit! If your child still needs a spirit shirt, you can contact our uniform vendor to purchase one.
Have a STELLAR evening, and we’ll see our scholars tomorrow for FUN FRIDAY!
Happy Hump Day, STELLAR Families!
As we reach the middle of the week, I simply want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for helping us make these first three days of school truly STELLAR! We are incredibly grateful for all of our families who have been patient, supportive, and committed to following the systems we have put in place especially during dismissal. These procedures are designed with one priority in mind: keeping every student safe.
Rainy Day Dismissal Procedures
I also want to share an important reminder about our Rainy Day Dismissal Procedures for future reference. When we are experiencing heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, students will remain safely inside the building until conditions allow us to begin dismissal.
• Walkers being picked up by a guardian will remain inside and will be released safely from the left door to their guardian.
• Our “true” walkers students who actually walk home will remain safely inside the building until the thunder, lightning, and heavy rain have stopped and it is safe for them to walk home.
Thank you for your patience, grace, and cooperation today as our team worked diligently to ensure that every student made it home safely. We understand that weather delays can make dismissal take a little longer, and we truly appreciate you partnering with us and trusting the process.
Tomorrow Is HOUSE SORTING DAY! We are excited that tomorrow our 3rd-grade students, along with any 3rd-, 4th-, and 5th-grade students who are new to Biscayne, will participate in our HOUSE SORTING! This is always an exciting BELA tradition as our students discover the House they will represent and become part of their new House family! Be on the lookout tomorrow! Your student will come home with a parent letter announcing which House they landed in!
Friday Is SPIRIT DAY!
Let's finish our first week showing our BELA PRIDE! Friday is Spirit Day, and all students should wear their BELA spirit shirts. If your student needs a spirit shirt, shirts are available for purchase through our uniform vendor.
Morning Intake Reminder
As we continue establishing our schoolwide routines, please remember our morning intake procedures:
3rd–5th Grade: Students should report directly to the cafeteria in the morning for morning intake and breakfast.
VPK–2nd Grade: Students should report directly to their classrooms for morning intake.
Thank you for helping us establish strong routines from the very beginning. Consistency between home and school helps our students start each day ready to learn and succeed! These first three days have been amazing because of the partnership between our students, staff, and families. This is what it looks like when a school community works together!
Thank you for helping us start the year STELLAR, safe, and POWERFUL!
Greetings Stellar families!
Thank you for two amazing days. Just a few reminders. Tomorrow you will not be allowed to walk students to class. Please refer to the newsletter for arrival and dismissal procedures. The staff parking lot will be closed for parents to park during morning intake. We lool forward to finishing this week in a powerful way! Enjoy your evening.

Bus Registration
We want to provide a safe and orderly environment for all students on our buses. That’s why all students must be registered for transportation each year before riding the bus! This also includes students in a self-contained ESE program.
Bus registration for 2026-27 is NOW OPEN. Just follow the directions below.
Note: You must have a Linked Parent Account in order to register for a bus.
1. Log in to the parent/guardian Focus account and select your child’s name.
2. Select Child Info.
3. Select Forms.
4. Select 2026-27 Transportation Registration Form.
5. Review address. Note that the primary address is used to determine the bus assignment.
If the address is correct: Go to “I am requesting bus stop transportation for my student” and select Yes. If the address is incorrect: Contact your child’s school to update before proceeding.
6. Click Submit Request.
Repeat these steps for any additional students in the family.
Students in a self-contained ESE program must also be registered for bus transportation. The registration steps are the same, but you must also complete the section labeled: ONLY Complete this section if your student is in a Self-contained ESE Program.
