CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Join us in thanking our outstanding school counselors for the lasting difference they make in our schools and community!

Hello Cedar Hills families,
This is an update on the recent plumbing issues our school has been experiencing. Due to ongoing plumbing repairs, our cafeteria was closed for service today and will remain closed through tomorrow. Our food service vendor, Chartwells K-12, will continue preparing all student meals at their facility and delivering them to the school.
District Plumbing Services is on campus and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Once repairs are complete, our custodial team will thoroughly clean and sanitize the kitchen area. Please note that this issue does not impact student restroom facilities and remains operational. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter. I will continue to keep you updated on the progress of the repairs.

Hello Cedar Hills Elementary School Families,

We had a great day of learning today; however, I wanted to make you aware of a plumbing issue that occurred on campus and the safety measures we took to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff. This morning, our school experienced a sewage backup in the kitchen area. As a result, the kitchen was immediately closed, which caused lunch service for all students to be delayed. Our food service vendor, Chartwells K-12, prepared the lunches at their facility and delivered the meals to the school at approximately 12:30 p.m. All students were provided a snack to enjoy in their classrooms while we waited for the lunch delivery. Please note that student restroom facilities were not impacted by this issue and remained fully operational throughout the day.  District Plumbing Services is currently on campus.  They have informed us that the repair work will extend through the school day tomorrow, so meals will again be prepared off-site and delivered to the school.  Once repairs are complete, our custodial team will thoroughly clean and sanitize the kitchen area. If this timeline changes, I will provide updates by phone and email tomorrow. As always, thank you for your continued support of Cedar Hills Elementary.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.

Thank you.
