THE 2ND ANNUAL CTE CAREER ACADEMY SHOWCASE – You're invited to this free community event where Duval’s educators and students shine! Highlighting all 67 of the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Academies and programs, this event offers students and teachers a platform to share their innovative work with families and the broader community. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with academy staff and students, explore the unique programs offered across the district, and receive expert guidance from CTE staff on navigating the application process. No advanced registration is required. This event takes place Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Adam W. Herbert University Center at the University of North Florida. We are pleased that FDOT has opened a portion of White Avenue to improve some traffic flow around campus. White Avenue has only the north-bound lane open to traffic. Families may turn right onto White Avenue from San Diego Road only. The lane is not open to families wanting to make a left turn from White Avenue to San Diego Road. Please help keep everyone safe (students, families, and FDOT workers) by using only the north-bound lane for traffic flowing to Atlantic Blvd. Thank you for being so patient as we move through the school year.

Student parking is limited. All vehicles parked on the school property must be registered with Douglas Anderson. Parking without a decal is prohibited. GUITAR STUDENTS SHARE LOVE OF MUSIC – Students in Douglas Anderson School of the Arts’ Guitar Program are hitting all of the right notes as they perform for other students across the district. Members of the school’s Guitar Ensemble recently visited Thomas Jefferson and Lone Star elementary schools, speaking to students about the program and what it is like to attend LaVilla and Douglas Anderson.
