CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Join us in thanking our outstanding school counselors for the lasting difference they make in our schools and community!

This message went out to our school families this morning notifying you that Englewood Elementary will be placed on a Lockout for the school day. Please know that every student is safe in their classrooms and celebrating the last day of school with their teachers.
We will begin dismissal at 11:45 am.
We wish you all a safe and FUN summer break! Remember to keep reading and practicing those math skills.

Our school celebrated Bananas about Books this week. Students dressed up in their favorite clothing about reading, dressed as their dream job, and wore yellow like bananas. We also had our very own DCPS "Celebrities" come to read to our classes.
Our local celebrities that visited were: Dr. Bernier, Mr. Ramirez, Ms. Renfro, Dr. Simon, Dr. Boatright, Mrs. Sullivan, Ms. Turbett, and Mr. Pabon.
Our very own ESOL Paraprofessional read books to our students in their home language. Those language are: Burmese, Spanish and Burmese.
Our students had the absolute best week going "Bananas over Books!"
