Greetings Fort Caroline Elementary Families and Friends,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the proud new Principal of Fort Caroline Elementary School. It is a privilege and honor to be part of the Fort family, and I look forward to continuing our Journey to Excellence with each member of our school community.
I have dedicated over eighteen years to education, with a specific focus on literacy development and early enrichment opportunities for students. My administrative experience includes eight years of successful leadership as both an Elementary Principal and Assistant Principal in Duval County Public Schools.
My Vision
As an educational leader, it is vital that everyone who steps through our school doors—students, teachers, and parents—feels excited to be here! This positive attitude empowers us to tackle the challenges of academic excellence in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. I believe that when all stakeholders work together as ONE, greatness will follow.
Together with our dedicated teachers and staff, I am committed to continuing the legacy of success established at Fort Caroline by building strong relationships with students, parents, and community partners. Our Fort Caroline families are a crucial part of the strong foundation of our school.
Our Priorities
At Fort Caroline Elementary, we are dedicated to standards-based instruction to enhance student thinking and develop well-rounded learners. By aligning our curriculum with educational standards, we aim to provide meaningful learning experiences that challenge our students and foster critical thinking skills.
Additionally, we prioritize safety and social/emotional well-being, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. This holistic approach supports our students' academic success by nurturing their emotional and social growth alongside their academic achievements.
Through these efforts, we are committed to creating a positive and enriching educational experience that prepares our students for future challenges and opportunities.
To meet and exceed our goals, we will focus on the Seven Basic Needs of Children:
A need for safety and structure
A need for relationships
A need for belonging
A need for self-worth
A need for independence
A need for competence and mastery
A need for self-awareness and control
Fort Caroline will provide the support, resources, and development needed to fulfill these essential needs of our children.
Working Together
As we navigate through this ever-changing time, we will need each other now more than ever. Flexibility and communication will be essential. The faculty and staff at Fort Caroline and I are always here to answer any questions and provide support where needed.
I am truly thankful for the opportunity to bring my experiences and knowledge to your beautiful community. I look forward to meeting each of you as the school year progresses. I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow both academically and socially. Your input is invaluable! Please feel free to call or email me with any concerns, suggestions, or ideas you would like to share. Your feedback and support are greatly appreciated.
