We are looking forward to our Red Ribbon Week Activities next week starting Monday October 21st. We have a week full of activities. We will close the festive week with our Book Character-Vocabulary Parade on Friday October 25th. Please note that the purpose of the parade is to promote reading and vocabulary development. Students will need to carry a copy of their book during the parade.
Here is a little more information on the parade participation guidelines:
1. Create a large label with your vocabulary word. (For example, if a student dressed as a scarecrow, with the book Scarecrow Pete, the vocabulary word may be “enchanting”) 2.Dress up!
**Please make sure your character is from a book and not just a recycled Halloween costume.
Hi there Sweet Fishweir. Band practice for today 10/15 and Thursday 10/17 has been cancelled. Mr. Brown shared that his father passed away and he will not be onsite this week. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts during this time. He has shared that he will be back for practice on Tuesday 10/22. Students will be dismissed via their regular mode of transportation.

Fishweir Band Parents,
We are beaming with enthusiasm to begin the band year. Permission Slips were sent home with the band students today. If your child did not receive a copy, a copy will be posted within the Band "Room" (through the DCPS App). The "room" was created this evening and families were added to the room.
Considering school will be closed Thursday-Friday of this week, there will be no band this week. We will begin on Tuesday, October 1st. You will receive additional information from the Band Teacher, Jay Brown.
