Patriot News headline

Dear parents/guardians,

Happy Monday Patriots! It is a beautiful, chilly day in Jacksonville. We ended last week with a fantastic Valentines Day. I had no idea how many budding relationships we have here at JSMAL. I saw so many chocolates, stuffed animals, and flowers. Progress reports are available in your parent portal, however moving forward we will start printing these out and give them to your cadets starting with third quarter report cards. Our SAC discussed the need for a printed copy for our families as many do not have access to printers. We had a very productive SAC meeting last week and I encourage you to join our team. One of our parents has volunteered to be at JSMAL every Friday from 2:00-3:30pm in the front office to assist any of you who need help with your parent focus account or any of the blended learning platforms your child has access to. This will begin this Friday, February 21.

Westpoint STEM Day - JSMAL was chosen to host a STEM lab this Friday. Cadets and Cadre from West Point will be here with 40 JSMAL cadets working in teams to explore, play and build electronic gadgets. This is an exciting opportunity for our cadets in advanced math classes in 7th and 8th grade. Cadets need to turn in a permission slip to Ms. Justice. We still have some spaces open.

Academic Night and Title I Parent Engagement – Come join us on February 25, from 5:30 to 7:00pm. This is a family event full of information about your child’s data, what the state tests look like and how to help your cadet. We will have food and prizes.
