Dear parents/guardians,
Happy Sunday, Patriots! Thank you to all the parents and guardians who celebrated with our staff and faculty this week. It was wonderful letting our teachers and staff know how much they are valued, seen, and appreciated! In the middle of our Wicked Teacher and Staff appreciation week, we tested your cadets on their state final ELA/Reading, and they delivered! We are up 8% in the number of proficient cadets, and many of our cadets have improved from this time last year. I’ll have those numbers for you soon. This week, we have math state testing for all grades except Alg and Geo, and all our 8th graders will take the state science test, including Biology. After testing this month, we will celebrate all our cadets who made gains in reading and math.
Important reminder about student IDs—Our students who ride the bus scan their IDs as part of the new student tracking on the buses. When students don't have their IDs, they have to stop and put them in manually, which is causing delays. We need students to have their IDs when riding the buses.
Step-Up for Students – The district has announced that buses for magnet schools will go away in 2026. One of our parents found this site with a Transportation Stipend to help offset the cost for you to drive your cadet to JSMAL: To support the transportation costs associated with traveling to a public school other than the one the student has been assigned, families of K-8 students can benefit from a transportation stipend of $750 per household. Check out the website below to apply.
