Happy Sunday Patriots! If you are looking for something fun to do after school for your cadet, please consider Team Up. Team Up is a free afterschool enrichment program available to all our cadets. Yesterday, we had four other middles schools with Team Up programs playing in a flag football tournament at JSMAL. Team Up provides an afternoon snack, dinner, sports, and activities along with academic support, every day after school from 3:30 to 6:30pm. We also have Team Up and activity buses to bring cadets home. Please reach out to Assunta Bolden, our director of Team Up, if you have any questions about the program and transportation. Scholastic Book Fair is here! We are celebrating Literacy Week February 9-13. We have lots of activities including the opportunity to buy books at the book fair in room 20 during ELA class. Here is the schedule for the week.
Mon, Feb 9 – Get your passport from your ELA Teacher. Book Fair through ELA class.
Tues, Feb 10– Character Day. Wear your favorite character shirt only to school.
Wed, Feb 11– Book Fair through ELA class.
Thurs, Feb 12– Book Fair through ELA class.
Fri, Feb 13– Spelling Bee during 7pd in room 41.
Free Eye exams and glasses are back: Florida Heiken Children’s Vision Program is returning to Duval the week of March 9th-13th to offer NO COST eye exams and glasses. Please see the attached flyer for more information and register at the following link: Florida Heiken Children’s Vision Program. We need at least thirty signed up for them to come out to JSMAL.
Spring Sports are here! - Get those Aktivate accounts up to date and check your EL2 (athletic physicals) because tryouts for spring sports start February 17th. Please email our Athletic Director, Shawn Viecelli at viecellis1@duvalschools.org if you have any questions.
