Happy Saturday Patriots! We are having a fabulous day at JSMAL with Math Boot Camp this morning. Teachers have sent out invitations. If you have any questions or would like to attend, please contact your math teacher. For Mr. Anderson’s cadets, contact Ms. McNally at ortong@duvalschools.org. Next week I will attach the testing schedule for May. This year is quickly coming to an end so please make every effort to ensure your cadet comes to school. We want them successful on our state and district end of course assessments and prepared for the next grade level.

8th graders - The deadline is approaching for FREE ECG screenings for our student athletes. This is a terrific opportunity to get your 8th graders scheduled for this new requirement by the state of Florida. This is extremely important for the health of our student athletes and required by state law for all incoming freshmen on the high school level. These school-based screenings are important to help prepare our students for high school sports. Our date will be April 14 from 1:30 – 3:15pm here at JSMAL. Register NLT noon April 13.

Yearbook – They are in and absolutely beautiful! They are full of great pictures of our cadets and all the events that happen throughout the school year. YES, they have a hard cover. We will not be issuing out the yearbooks until the last week of school. There are still yearbooks available and we will sell them on a first-come, first-served basis. You can bring cash or money order to the front office. Cost is $45. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. McNally at ortong@duvalschools.org.
Lost and Found– If your cadet has lost items at school, please encourage them to look through our lost and found items in the mess hall (Cafeteria). It has grown and we need to get the items picked up.
Community Events:
Exciting news for our community! CareerSource of Northeast Florida and Better Together are bringing job opportunities directly to our area for individuals ages sixteen and up! I am referring to wraparound employment services. This is a great chance for our youth and families to explore employment, build skills, and take steps toward financial stability and independence. This includes those who need a second chance!
