Dear JSMAL Parents and Guardians,
What an outstanding first week of school we have had at Joseph Stilwell Military Academy of Leadership!
It has been wonderful to see our 7th and 8th grade cadets reconnect with their classmates and teachers after the summer break. Equally exciting has been welcoming our new 6th grade cadets, who are learning quickly, eager to participate, and already demonstrating the leadership potential that makes JSMAL such a special place.
I would also like to thank our parents and guardians for your patience during the first days of school. We understand that transportation can be challenging, especially for families new to the school bus system and magnet transportation hubs. The good news is that the bus situation continues to improve each day. The first few days of school can be confusing for both cadets and families, but we appreciate your continued support and understanding as routines are established.
Tomorrow, Monday, August 17, our cadets will participate in their first schoolwide formation of the year. Throughout the week, they have been practicing formation procedures during their leadership classes. During this event, the entire school will assemble on the field by grade levels and platoons, led by their squad leaders, for muster and inspection. This is an important tradition at JSMAL and a great opportunity for our cadets to demonstrate teamwork, discipline, and pride. We will share pictures of our proud cadets on the JSMAL website following the event.
