Good morning, JSMAL Families,
This is a reminder that our Open House and Title I Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 27, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
During Open House, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to follow their cadet's schedule and visit all seven class periods. Teachers will review course syllabi, classroom expectations, grading practices, and the academic and behavioral supports available to help every cadet succeed.
During the Title I presentation, families will receive information regarding:
The school's Title I budget
Positions funded through Title I allocations
Plans for utilizing Title I funds to support student achievement
Important Reminders
🥜 Peanut-Free Campus
JSMAL is a peanut-free school. We have cadets and staff members with severe allergies to peanuts and other nut products. Please refrain from sending nut-containing foods or snacks to school. Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge for all cadets.
⏰ Early Student Pick-Up
For security and accountability purposes, early pick-up ends at 2:15 PM daily. If your cadet needs to leave early, please arrive before 2:15 PM. Otherwise, we ask that you wait until regular dismissal at 3:20 PM.
👕 Uniform Expectations
JSMAL is a full-uniform school. Cadets are required to wear:
Grade-level uniform shirt
Uniform pants
Black belt
Black socks
All-black shoes
We have worked with families during the first few weeks of school; however, beginning September 8, all cadets are expected to be in complete uniform each day.
Our most common uniform concern has been footwear. Please ensure that shoes are completely black, including the soles, laces, and any logos or stripes. Colored accents of any kind are not permitted.
Parents, regular daily attendance is important to a cadet's academic success. Frequent absences and chronic truancy hinder a student's opportunity for success in school.
