Calling All 5th Grade Parents! 🎓
Need help with the School Choice Application process for middle school? Join us at our School Advisory Council (SAC) Meeting on Monday, October 27th at 3:10 PM!

We’ll have a special guest — Dr. Harris, Magnet Lead from Fort Caroline Middle School of the Arts — who will share important information and answer your questions about magnet and choice options.

Don't forget! Level Up with Lexia Core party is on Monday, October 20th during school. If your child Leveled Up, have them WEAR BLUE to show their Lake Lu spirit because they" Blew It Out" on Lexia Core and Leveled Up!!!

Reminder: Hispanic Heritage Night — Tuesday, September 30 at 5:30 PM

Lake Lu Families,
Tomorrow is our Hispanic Heritage Night! If you RSVP’d, enjoy a catered Taco Bar while:

• Kindergarten & 1st Grade present a shared reading
• 5th Grade showcases their Hispanic Heritage research projects
• Students participate in hands-on activities
• You learn about the New Worlds Reading program—eligible VPK–5 students who are not yet reading on grade level can enroll to receive free books mailed to your home each month during the school year (materials available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and braille). We’ll have staff on hand to help you check eligibility and enroll.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Recordatorio: Noche de la Herencia Hispana — martes, 30 de septiembre a las 5:30 p. m.

Familias de Lake Lu,
¡Mañana es nuestra Noche de la Herencia Hispana! Si confirmaron su asistencia, disfruten una barra de tacos mientras:
• Kindergarten y 1.º presentan una lectura compartida
• 5.º grado muestra sus proyectos de investigación sobre la herencia hispana
• Los estudiantes participan en actividades
• Conocen el programa New Worlds Reading—los estudiantes de VPK a 5.º grado que aún no leen al nivel de su grado pueden inscribirse para recibir libros gratuitos por correo cada mes durante el año escolar (materiales disponibles en inglés, español, criollo haitiano y braille). Tendremos personal para ayudarle a verificar la elegibilidad e inscribirse.
