What is Title 1?

Title I is a K-12 program that provides additional academic support and learning opportunities for students at schools with high percentages of socioeconomically disadvantaged children. The program is intended to help ensure that all students meet state academic standards. Each year, our school creates a Title I Parent and Family Engagement Plan with input from our families and community members. The PFEP Developmental Meeting is held in the spring to plan for the following school year. This plan is available to view in our parent resource room. Anyone wishing to receive a copy of the plan may request one from our main office.

Goal of Title1:

  • Increase academic achievement

  • Provide direct instructional support to students.

  • Provide professional development for teachers.

  • Promote parent education and involvement.

Schoolwide programs have the following key components:

School wide Reform Strategies: Addressing the needs of all children in our school

Instruction by Highly Qualified Teachers: Ensuring instruction and providing on-going professional development

Parental Involvement: Creating ways to involve parents in planning, review, and improvement of our school

Additional Support: Providing effective, timely assistance to students experiencing difficulty.

Transition Plans: Assisting students moving from home to Kindergarten and students in 5thgrade to middle school.
